Privacy Notice

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This Privacy Notice explains how Petty Petty Things Ltd, trading as FeelNeverBetter (“FeelNeverBetter”, “FNB”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collects and uses personal information when you use the FeelNeverBetter website, applications and services.

Data controller: Petty Petty Things Ltd
Address: 207 Regent Street, London, W1B 3HH, UK

Privacy email: privacy@pettypettythings.com. You may also send a privacy request to the address above.

1. Our approach to privacy

FeelNeverBetter is a pseudonymous community for everyday frustrations, personal feelings, short supportive conversations and labelled fictional humour. It is not a confidential counselling or medical service.

We recognise that what people choose to share may be personal and, in some cases, highly sensitive.

We aim to:

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use FeelNeverBetter, we may collect the following information.

Account information

This may include:

The current sign-in form uses emailed one-time codes. It does not ask for your real name, date of birth or an identity document. An email-code check is not age verification. Your account email is private to FNB and its relevant service providers; masking it on your Account page protects the display only and does not remove the stored email. FNB retains a private link between an active account and its public profile.

Content you provide

This may include:

Because FeelNeverBetter concerns personal experiences and wellbeing, information you voluntarily include in a post may reveal information about matters such as your health or mental health.

You should avoid including information that you do not want others to see where you are using a public or community-facing feature.

Image uploads are currently unavailable and there is no private direct-messaging feature. Any legacy image data remains subject to its existing access and moderation controls.

Technical information

When you use FeelNeverBetter, we may collect information such as:

Hosting, authentication and email providers may process IP addresses, device information and delivery/security logs as part of their services. Optional Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are currently disabled. FNB does not currently run advertising trackers or a location permission feature.

Moderation and safety information

We may process:

Communications

If you contact us, we may retain:

Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies for purposes including:

More information is provided in our Cookie Notice and cookie preference controls.

3. Information that may be particularly sensitive

Some User Content may include information concerning:

We do not require users to provide this information merely to create a standard account unless a particular feature clearly states otherwise.

However, users may voluntarily reveal sensitive information in posts or communications.

Where we process special-category personal data, we will only do so where an appropriate condition under applicable data-protection law applies.

We have not treated acceptance of the House Rules as blanket explicit consent to process health information. Nor do we assume that a protected-beta post has been manifestly made public for data-protection purposes.

4. How we use your information

We may use personal information for the following purposes.

Providing the service

We use information to:

This includes showing categories and hashtags derived from vent text, ranking New and Trending feeds, displaying your chosen reply preference, recording a poll or category heat-meter vote, and maintaining saved conversations and activity notifications. The playful vent gauge counts your posts in the last 90 days; it is not a clinical assessment or a measurement of anger, wellbeing or risk. The mood shown with a profile is a selected label, not an AI diagnosis.

Our lawful basis will generally be that the processing is necessary to perform our contract with you.

Platform safety and moderation

We use information to:

Depending on the circumstances, our lawful basis may include legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations or another basis permitted by law.

Legal and regulatory obligations

We may process information where necessary to comply with:

Our lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation where applicable.

Security and fraud prevention

We may use technical and account information to:

Our lawful basis may be legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations or performance of our contract, depending on the activity.

Improving FeelNeverBetter

We may analyse how users interact with the Platform to:

Where appropriate, we use aggregated or de-identified information.

Where information remains personal information, we rely on an appropriate lawful basis such as legitimate interests or consent, depending on the processing involved.

Communications

We may contact you about:

These communications are necessary to operate the service or our relationship with you.

The current system sends authentication/service emails and private report alerts to authorised reviewers. It does not currently send marketing campaigns or email every Echo notification. No subscription checkout or payment-data collection is active.

5. Our lawful bases

Depending on the processing activity, we may rely on:

Contract – where processing is necessary to provide the service you requested.

Legal obligation – where we are required to process information under applicable law.

Legitimate interests – where necessary for legitimate purposes such as securing the Platform, preventing abuse, improving the service or protecting our legal rights, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Consent – where we specifically ask you to agree to a particular type of processing and consent is the appropriate legal basis.

Vital interests – in exceptional circumstances where processing is necessary to protect somebody's life.

Where special-category personal information is involved, an additional legal condition is required and will be assessed separately.

6. Public and community content

The Vent Wall is intended to allow User Content to be encountered by other users.

Content that you submit to a public or community feature may therefore be visible to other people.

Published vents, their hashtags and categories, published Echoes and the author's name, mood/avatar and badges can be seen by visitors who can access the site. Reactions, poll results and category heat-meter results normally appear as counts; the underlying activity is linked to a profile in the database. Your saved conversations, blocks and reports are not public lists. During the protected beta, access also requires Vercel sign-in. A later public release can make published content accessible without either Vercel or FNB sign-in.

The Share control is available to members and visitors on published vents. It shares or copies a vent link through your device or chosen third-party service. A recipient or social platform may view, cache or copy published content. Protected-beta links remain protected by Vercel. FNB cannot recall external copies after a link or screenshot has been shared.

Profiles marked by a bot icon with the label “Fictional starter profile” are FNB-created fictional characters. Their generated content is not taken from a real member's account. Members' Echoes and reactions on those vents are real member activity and are handled like their other contributions.

Do not post identifying, private or confidential information about yourself or another person. Use a non-identifying description under the House Rules. Even if processing might have a lawful basis, that does not override the community's privacy rule.

Deleting your account or a post may not immediately remove copies that:

7. Moderation technology

FeelNeverBetter may use automated tools and artificial-intelligence-assisted systems to support content moderation and Platform safety.

FNB currently sends submitted vent and Echo text, poll questions and choices, and relevant hashtag text to OpenAI for automated moderation. Vent text and the existing hashtag catalogue are also used to suggest a category and hashtags. The application does not intentionally include your sign-in email or authentication credentials in these AI requests. Text you type can nevertheless contain identifying or sensitive information, even when you use a pseudonym.

OpenAI researches public UK topics and proposes category heat-meter questions for admin review. These research requests do not include member profiles, vents or sign-in emails. Custom admin questions and generated proposals are also checked for text safety. An admin must approve a question before it goes live.

OpenAI also generates fictional starter conversations from FNB's prompts; the generation request is not a copy of members' private account records. All generated text is checked before publication. Moderation and classification are different checks: a missing category can fall back to Others, while an unavailable or incomplete safety check holds submitted content privately.

These tools may analyse content or associated signals to help:

Automated systems may make mistakes and should not be assumed to understand context perfectly.

Where a decision has a significant effect on a user, we will provide human review or other safeguards where required by applicable law.

Automated checks can hold or block a submission; authorised admins can review held content and reports and suspend accounts. Appeals can be sent to the company address above. There is no in-app appeal button or guaranteed appeal response deadline. We do not claim that automated checks eliminate harmful content or guarantee correct decisions.

8. Safety emergencies

FeelNeverBetter is not an emergency-monitoring service and users should not rely on us to identify or intervene in emergencies.

However, in exceptional circumstances, information available to us may indicate an immediate and serious risk to somebody's life or safety.

Where lawful and appropriate, we may process or disclose relevant information to:

Any such disclosure will be considered on a case-by-case basis and limited to what we reasonably consider necessary and legally permissible.

9. Who we share information with

We may share information with service providers that help us operate FeelNeverBetter.

These may include providers of:

Where these organisations process personal information on our behalf, we require appropriate data-protection arrangements.

The current beta uses:

Authorised reviewers receive report emails containing a case link and urgency information, not the reported post, reporter identity or free-text report details. They can view the underlying evidence in the restricted admin console.

We may also disclose information:

We do not sell your personal information.

10. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will use appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.

These may include:

Provider locations and subprocessors vary by service and account configuration. We do not promise that all data stays in the UK.

11. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

Retention periods will depend on the type of information and why it is required.

Our retention approach may include:

Account information: generally retained while your account remains active and for a limited period afterwards where required for security, legal or administrative purposes.

User Content: currently has no automatic expiry. Vents and Echoes can remain after account deletion to preserve conversations, with the account link removed. Published content can remain visible. Individual content deletion and lawful erasure requests are separate from closing an account; disconnecting the email does not necessarily anonymise the text.

Moderation and safety records: may be retained for longer where necessary to prevent repeated abuse, handle complaints, demonstrate compliance or protect users.

Security logs: retained for an appropriate period necessary to investigate security events and protect the service.

Support correspondence: retained for a reasonable period after the matter is resolved.

The current implementation does not establish fixed deletion deadlines for moderation evidence, audit records, correspondence, vendor logs or backups.

12. Account and content deletion

You may be able to delete individual content through the Platform.

Use Delete my account in Preferences / Account settings, typing DELETE to confirm. This deletes the active email/sign-in record, disconnects account ownership and signs out the deleting browser. Your votes, reactions, saved conversations, block relationships and personal notifications are removed. Report evidence and some safety/audit records may remain separately.

Category heat-meter votes are removed when the account is deleted.

Account deletion leaves the public profile, its name and avatar, vents and Echoes in place. Published material remains visible. Delete your individual vents or Echoes before closing your account if you want to remove their normal visible content. A deleted vent removes its conversation and poll; deleting an Echo clears its text while leaving later responses and a deletion marker. Once the ownership link is gone, the deleted account cannot manage retained content. To ask for erasure or review of retained personal information, contact privacy@pettypettythings.com or write to the company address above. We may need enough information to identify the content and verify the request.

Deletion may not apply where we have a lawful reason or obligation to retain information, including information needed for:

Backup copies may take additional time to expire through our normal backup cycle.

13. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information.

These may include:

No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

If you believe your account or personal information has been compromised, contact privacy@pettypettythings.com or write to the company address above. For an immediate threat to life, use emergency services rather than a postal request or FNB report.

14. Your data-protection rights

Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may have rights including the right to:

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal exceptions.

To exercise a privacy right, contact privacy@pettypettythings.com or write to Petty Petty Things Ltd at the address above.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

15. Complaints

If you have concerns about how FeelNeverBetter uses your personal information, you can contact us at the address above. You do not have to contact FNB before complaining to the regulator.

You also have the right to complain to the UK data-protection regulator:

Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
Contact the ICO

If you live outside the UK, you may also have rights to contact the relevant data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.

16. Cookies and similar technology

We use cookies and other storage or access technologies in accordance with applicable privacy and electronic-communications rules.

Some technologies are necessary for the Platform to work.

Other technologies may require consent or another applicable exemption.

Where required, optional technologies will not be activated until the appropriate choice has been made.

Users can manage their optional-analytics preference through the Privacy settings button in the site footer. Optional analytics stays disabled in the current beta even if a preference is saved. Choosing an appearance is separate from consenting to analytics.

Further details are provided in our Cookie Notice.

17. Children

FeelNeverBetter's community service is currently intended for people aged 18 and over.

We do not knowingly offer accounts to children through the adult service.

If we introduce services intended for children or teenagers, we will introduce appropriate privacy information, risk assessments, age-appropriate design and safety measures before doing so.

The current sign-in flow does not check a date of birth or perform age assurance. Stating an 18+ rule does not establish that children cannot access the service. If you believe a child has created an account contrary to the intended age restriction, use the in-app reporting control where relevant or write to the company address above.

18. Changes to this Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect:

We will update the “Last updated” date whenever this notice changes.

Where appropriate, we will notify users of material changes before they take effect.
